Diane Baker Obituary

Diane Cousar Baker was born to the late James and Mary Cousar on February 22, 1954 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She gained her wings peacefully on June 6, 2022 in Geismar, Louisiana. Diane is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Cousar, her father James Cousar, her brother James Edward Cousar, and her sister Mary Helen Cousar.

Celebration of Life service will be held 1pm Saturday June 18, 2022 First Missionary Baptist Church of Georgetown in accordance with the Covid-19 mandate.  Burial will follow immediately after the service at the Belgrade Family Cemetery (156 Mattocks Road).  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Diane was baptized at an early age. She was a prayer warrior and a listening ear for many. Throughout her lifetime, Diane demonstrated her faith and love for God. Diane opened her home with love and affection and has touched many lives along the way. Diane was a mother to many; she spoke with love and always ended her conversations with "I Love You More, Mean It!".

Diane was a hardworking woman. She dedicated more than 20 years to Wal-Mart where she worked until her retirement. Diane's passion for knitting inspired her to created Nana's Designs. She took pride in crafting everything from blankets, to house shoes, to hats, etc.

Diane loved knitting, listening to gospel music while having praise and worship, good food, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memories, five (5) children: four (4) sons; Gregory (Veleka) Cousar, Ventrial (Amy) Baker, Calevin (Tavarra) Baker, Elysses (Brandi) Baker; One (1) daughter: Laglana Georges, and aunt/mother to Germaine (Aleshia) Cousar; 3 sisters: Geraldine Joiner; Gloria Cousar, and Keretha Cousar; 1 brother, Edward Lee Cousar 25 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
