Orion Earl Barnes

Jacksonville - Orion Earl (Joe) Barnes, 85 of Jacksonville, entered into eternal rest on May 8, 2023 at Carolina Rivers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

Celebration of Life will be held 11am, Saturday May 13, 2023 at Akridge Family Funeral Care of Jacksonville. Interment will follow immediately after the service at the Thompson Family Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.   

He is survived by his sons Dennis Barnes of Richlands, Alfred (Brenda) Sutton of Wilson; brothers, Robert (Georgia) Barnes of Maryland, Michael Barnes of Jacksonville; sisters, Peggie Barnes and Dorothy Barnes Trent, both of Connecticut, Sandra Fay Barnes of Washington, DC, Ellen (Kevin) Burnette of Jacksonville; special nephew, Tommy (Diana) Barnes.  He is also survived by two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. 

Services are entrusted with Akridge Family Funeral Care of Jacksonville.
